With this vision Massimiliano Coppo opens IL PICCHIO ALLEGRO in the February of 1997 in a completely
renovated farmer house in the middle of the picturesque valley of Rieti.
Not new to the restoration business, Massimiliano comes to his new challenge
after having managed for four years
an Italian restaurant in the Caribbean Islands.
Since the beginning he plans to give to his place a strong personality
and particular flavor, leveraging the experience grown in his international travels.
He created a rustic but stylish environment, where the dining
experience perfectly combines with a fine cuisine founded
on simple local dishes and exotic
gastronomic recipes and ingredients.
Over the years the restaurant has
grown through the suggestions of
the most affectionate customers
with Massimiliano synergized to
continuously improve the restaurant.
The final result is so unique that
people drive from far away
